1 to 1 Dog Training Terms & Conditions

By making a booking with Buttons & Leash Dog Training you acknowledge that you have read, understood and have accepted the below terms and conditions:

​

Bookings

​

• It is the client's responsibility to ensure they book ALL of their purchased training sessions. 

• It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they are available on the agreed date and time.  If the client fails to attend, the associated costs will still be applied.

• Training programmes will start once Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour has received a completed questionnaire from the client.  This will be provided to the client, via email, after the initial consultation.

 

Fees and Prices

​

• ​The client agrees to pay Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour the agreed amount for the training programmes.

• The client agrees to pay Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour upfront, for the agreed training programme.

• Accepted payment methods are credit/debit card, monthly installments or weekly payments.

• A mileage fee of 50p (per mile) will apply if Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour are required to travel to the client’s home, which is outside of our service area.  The client will be notified of this fee during the initial consultation.   The mileage fee will be added to the client’s invoice.

 

Cancellations

​

• ​If the client knows they need to reschedule a training session or visit/walk, Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour require 3 days’ notice.  We will of course rearrange the cancelled training session for a time and date suitable for the client.

• However, Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour do understand that unforeseen circumstances do occur and the above notice period may not always be possible.  In these situations, Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour, will rearrange the cancellation at a time and date suitable for the client.  Please note, if Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour has reason to believe these cancellations are not genuine, we reserve the right to consider the cancelled session as having been conducted.

• If for any reason Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour cannot reach the client’s property, or as to cancel a booking for reasons such as a vehicle breakdown, weather, then the above does not apply and there will be no charge.

• If Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour are not made aware of a cancellation as per above, then the training session and/or 30-minute visit/walk will be count as being taken.

• Ultimately, all cancellations will be at the discretion of Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour.

 

Insurance

​

• Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour is fully insured (Pet Business Insurance) to provide all services offered.  However, it is important that the client understands that dogs will be dogs and that Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour will not be held responsible or liable in the unfortunate event of damage/injury to your pet/property from any services we have provided.

• By signing this policy, the client agrees they can insure their property and its contents under a suitable insurance policy.

• The client is advised to inform their insurance providers of their pet care arrangements with Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour.

 

Items NOT Permitted

​

• ​The following items are NOT PERMITTED in any Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour training session under any circumstances: choker chains and/or check chains of any description; electronic training collars including citronella; any other device that causes discomfort, pain or fear to the puppy/dog; prong or pinch collars; any equipment that the trainer deems unacceptable.

• The use of physical force and punishment-based training techniques are not permitted in any Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour, training sessions.

 

Training Results

​

• ​It is important the client understands to get the most out of each training session, practice is required.  Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour recommend short daily training sessions be carried out.

• Although we cannot fully guarantee a 100% success rate with our training methods, we have a high success rate with previous clients who follow and practice our methods in the long term.

• Our methods are all kind, ethical and effective however are never instant and take commitment from the client to work with their dog in the long-term.

 

Clients Responsibility

​

• The client is solely responsible for any and all harm of damage caused by their dog(s) while it is under the care of Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour, or using any other service provided by Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour and agrees to indemnify Buttons & Leash in full against any liability arising from such harm or damage to third parties.

• All dogs that are known to bite other dogs or cause injury need to wear a muzzle, we take no responsibility for dogs who are not muzzled or kept under control, during our session or when working outside of our session. Failure to wear a muzzle when asked may result in termination of your support.

• Dogs must be always kept under control when I am entering your premises. Failure to do so and any injury caused by your dog being out of control will be your full responsibility. In all cases I will meet you outside your premises first and in some instances, we may work only outside taking a hands-off approach working at a distance (especially in cases of anxious dogs).

• In some cases, Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour use stooge dogs to aid training. You will be responsible for keeping your dog a sufficient and safe distance from the stooge dog and if asked will need your dog to wear a muzzle during these sessions.

• The client agrees to right a truthful review if requested by Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour.

 

Photo & Video Use

​

• ​By making a booking with Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour, you give permission for us to take photos & videos.  You also give your permission to Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour using these photos & videos on social media, our website and any future marketing materials.

• By sending Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour any photos &/or videos, you give Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour permission to use these photos &/or videos for teaching & marketing purposes.

• You are happy for Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour to share success stories about your dog via social media and share photos.

 

Our Responsibilities

​

• The trainer will apply personal judgement and cut short a training session, if necessary, because of extreme weather conditions; including, but not limited to: excessive heat, torrential rain, thunder storms and snow/ice. The decision to do so lays with the judgment of the trainer, for the safety of themselves, members of the public, other animals and that of the recipient. In such circumstances the decision to give a refund for that session (either complete or partial) is at the discretion of ‘Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour’.

• The trainer will apply personal judgement and cut short a training session, if necessary, if we feel the dog is not coping well. In the case of anxious dogs, we may do the initial session with the owner only or split the initial consultation into two smaller sessions.

• Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour agree to report/check in regularly about your dog’s progress through either email, text, or by sharing on our Facebook page or respond to any communication from Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour. Continual failure to do so can result in a termination of your support.
