About Me - Anthony Lennard
My journey to becoming a dog trainer.
From a young age I was always obsessed with dogs. Every Christmas & birthday I would ask for a dog. Unfortunately, my wish never came. As I got older I would walk & dog sit for my friends and family whenever they needed help. At family parties I would usually be found playing with the dog in the garden. Little did I know just how big a part of my life dogs would become.
In 2014, I met my partner Willow. Willow was blessed to have 2 lovely Chocolate Labradors, Buttons & Chip. Quickly I developed a deep bond with both dogs, in particular Buttons. Both dogs taught me an incredible amount about not only dogs, but also about myself. Buttons was such an inspiration that we decided to name our company after him. That is where the 'Buttons' in Buttons & Leash Dog Training comes from.
In 2019, my wife got me a surprise birthday present, a Belgian Tervuren Shepherd. I decided to name him Tywin, after a Game of Thrones character. It quickly became apparent Tywin & I would become inseparable. During the early days, I spent a lot of time training Tywin & quickly found out I really enjoyed it. It was during this period I decided I wanted to work with dogs.
It wasn't long after making the decision to work with dogs, that I decided I want to train dogs. This resulted in me enrolling with PACT, IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) & Canine Principles.
I am constantly studying the most up to date research and training methods. So when you work with me you will be getting access to the most up to date training methods out there.
